our little ivy turned one in september. oh, can i even express how much i love this baby girl? i remember being nervous about having another baby after violet- just because i couldn't imagine any room in my heart for another child. but, just like all the other mother's explained, your heart just seems to grow a whole new part for another baby. ivy has held onto that part of my heart and i could not be more thankful for her sweet personality.

we decided to celebrate the occasion at a park so that all her cousins could join in the fun. i planned the food around the hungry caterpillar books- he ate through some great things! pickles, apples, oranges, watermelon, cookies, cake, cheese, lollipops- all kid friendly food! it made it a very easy theme to follow...

ivy was chill as ever and happy to be at her own party. this is just her personality- to love where she is.

ivy's aunt heather was nice enough to help make- not only one but TWO cakes for the occasion!

The larger cake was for the guests, while the smaller cake was all for the birthday babe. you can she that she was fine with this idea...

until grandpa kept tickling her ear... she had something to say about that. but, hey- it's her party, right!?

she opened presents...

got some love from everyone there...

and just enjoyed the time spent together.

for her guests, we set up a little caterpillar station where the kids could glue some fuzzies together to make their own caterpillars to take home.

we also got out some face paint for the fun... but, as you can imagine, that soon got a little wild!

the park was a perfect location. the kids could run wild while the adults got in some chatter time- with no worries about a single mess! i think this may be a tradition for ivy...

little ivy, we love you.
