busy little bees

i've never been a blogger before, but that doesn't mean that i haven't secretly wanted to with all my young-girl heart for some time now. so here i am, fresh from the shower at 9:22 in the morning blogging. i think of all days in the year, a person's birthday gives them the best excuse to fall asleep in their clothes, not set the alarm and wake up when class is starting the next morning. i hope dr. crumbley feels this same way as i am blogging instead of studying latino literature this morning...
life is great right now, seriously couldn't be better. besides getting ready for the wedding, lately cade and i have been busy bees getting our trip to the dominican republic all set. we are headed down on march 7th to tackle a humanitarian aid project with eight other friends from school. we will be building homes and working with an elementary school to set up an international pen pal program with a school from logan. this last week we went in and taught at the school in logan for a day, helped students write letters, and gained an appreciation for sixth grade teachers.

aside from the service preparations, we have been scrounging for the last of our funds that make this trip possible. we have been fundraising since december and have raised over 7000 bucks but we still need about 2000 more for the expedition. cade, ever so clever, decided that our group could be successful going door to door for money, and last week alone we raised over a thousand dollars 'ridding college students of their spare change.' the door to door approach was so successful, cade remarked that it may prove to be necessary if we ever fall on hard times in the future and need to feed our children. don't worry, he reassured me that i could stay home with the kids, and he would take care of it himself. i am now sleeping soundly again...

it has been fun and we hope a couple other corporate sponsers pull through for us this week.

we have been keeping busy! wedding plans are coming along quite smoothly. my mother is a genius and this is proving to be beneficial to me. i'll keep you all posted...why? because i am now an official blogger.

Ash welcome to the world of blogging. I never thought I'd do it either but it sort of just happened. I'll be looking for more updates which I'm sure you'll be better at that I am.
